Options for Operators

Premium is rent. Marks are weather. Process is the grade.

Educational only. Not investment advice. Fictional names. No live broker and no real account.

Chapter 12: Capstone — Your Options Operating System

Options for Operators · Chapter 12 Big idea: Leave with a written system, not a head full of tickers.

Educational only. Not personalized investment advice. Toy portfolios only unless a parent/adult supervises real accounts.

This chapter is a template and defense, not a new strategy zoo.

What you must ship

1. Personal Overlay OS (1–2 pages)

Include:

SectionContent
Identity one-linerWilling both sides in your words
Account contextToy book or supervised real; cash policy
Happy-buy / happy-sell methodHow you set process prices
Core four allowed?Which tools are in / out
Explicit forbidden listNaked call income, etc.
RailsSingle-name %, core-keep, CSP collateral, cash floor
Early BTC policy30% / 50% / 70% rules you choose
Desk habitWhen you open Chain / Greeks / Pricer
Review cadenceWeekly / monthly checklist
Non-arms examplesAt least two

2. Toy book spreadsheet

4–6 positions + cash line. Columns: ticker, shares, weight, happy-buy, happy-sell, core-keep, notes.

3. Zero to three paper legs

Full tickets (Chapter 10 fields). May be zero if your honest OS says "not yet."

P06 / P05 reminder shapes
CSP
Early close policy

4. DecisionLog samples (2)

5. Reflection (½–1 page)

Defense questions (oral or written)

  1. Explain premium as rent without jargon collapse.
  2. Greeks tab vs Pricer — one example each.
  3. Walk assignment on your paper CC or CSP.
  4. Show a chart (any P-series) and state max gain/loss.
  5. Why is "high IV rank" alone insufficient?
  6. Read your forbidden list aloud and defend one line.

Graduation standard

You pass if the OS is internally consistent, rails are numeric enough to constrain you, and you can refuse a shiny ticket that violates your own page.

You do not pass by predicting the market.

Course closing doctrine

Options are not a second career. They express stock decisions you already hold. Premium is rent. Marks are weather. No trade is a valid trade. Write it down before you click.

Takeaways

  1. OS > memory of strategies.
  2. Paper legs prove process, not genius.
  3. Skip logs teach as much as arms.
  4. Defense is literacy under pressure.

End of first-draft curriculum spine. Polish, scenes, and exams can deepen from here.
